Inspired by Nature, Supported by Friends....
Self Portrait 2014
Tim is based in Denver and is often found hiking, biking or skiing the slopes of the Rockies or the trails of the Colorado plateau with his wife Cindy. Avid travelers, they love experiencing other places and cultures, which Tim then commits to canvas.
Tim began to draw and paint before he could write, developing an early appreciation of space, color and design. He began working with acrylics in Calgary in the summer of 2010, the magnificent nearby National Parks of Banff, Jasper and Yoho beckoning... demanding to be painted.
Early influences were the French Impressionists and the Canadian ‘Group of Seven’ (early 20th century). The embodiment of these influences was the late west-coast Canadian artist Robert Genn, whose style and technique continues to influence Tim's work. Tim is a member and supporter of the Art Students League of Denver, where his primary muse is Sandra Kaplan (http://www.sandrakaplan.com/ sankapl@yahoo.com).
Inspired by his surroundings, friends, and mentors, Tim's focus is on capturing the texture, color and vibrancy of the places he lives in and travels to. Please enjoy this website. Tim welcomes your interest and feedback.
